    • For sale is
    a figurine of a gentleman made by Derby during
    the Bloor period of the early 19th century . A really nice and early
    example with a lot of detail. He is very well modeled and nicely painted
    especially his vest! The detail and amount of flowers and fruit is
    truly superb. He has a basket next to him on the left side filled with
    fruit, a small floral arrangement in his left hand and a flower and
    small lamb in his right hand. A large leaf arrangement on his right
    side. The figure is standing on a nice base more reminiscent of 18th
    century Derby than most of the Bloor period pieces . More flowers and
    leaves to the base. The figurine is in amazing condition considering
    his age and the fragile nature of the decoration. He has no damage to
    him but off course there is some damage to flower petals, etc. but it is
    much less than one would expect. The flower under the lamb is hipped as
    are two petals on the base. A stem in his left hand is chipped and a
    bunch of leaves in the basket and the leaf arrangement are chipped as
    well. All in all as nice an example as I would ever expect to find! A
    truly stunning and cheery figurine. The figurine is marked underneath
    with an incised number 1056 as well as the blue swords mark often
    found on early Bloor period figurines and meant to imitate the top German maker. I
    also have his lady friend on the site if anyone would like the pair.
    The figurine is 9.625 inches tall, 4.5 inches wide and 3.5 inches deep. English England United Kingdom
